Developing GIS for DRR

We have developed GIS systems for more sophisticated use in adaptation to climate change and disaster risk reduction, by creating models that simulate the impact of climate change or of natural catastrophes, This done by crossing data relating to natural phenomena with data relating to social and economic vulnerability.

We thus can simulate through appropriate algorithms the specific impacts, and in this way we have obtained the system to support decisions that allows;

· optimisation of prevention measures

· optimisation of planning and of the management of resources in preparation for catastrophes against catastrophes;

· real-time management of emergency situations
